York City's highly-rated youngster did well in reserve team football and was thrust into senior action early in the new year. Given his first start at Rochdale in February he responded by scoring the only goal of the game with a close-range effort. The result victory lifted the Minstermen off the bottom of the Third Division and on their way to a nine-match unbeaten run which took them clear of danger. Scott is a lively striker.
