Scott found it difficult to break into the Millwall first team at the start of the 2000- 01 campaign and after making just a single appearance from the subs' bench he was transferred to Colchester United in October.
He was an ever-present at Layer Road until the final week of the season and did an effective job in shoring up a leaky defence.
He was mostly employed by the Us as a sweeper in a three-man back line but also featured occasionally at left back.
Scott joined Brentford in July 2004 on a two-year contract. While still on the playing staff, he was named the Bees' youth coach in April 2005.
