Opinel had an unfortunate start to the 2000-01 campaign for Raith Rovers, receiving red cards in his first two games. He then played a handful of games before falling out of favour.
In December, he came to Plymouth on trial and made a single appearance in the LDV Vans Trophy Second Round game at Bristol Rovers playing as a defender.
He was released and, after impressing in a trial for Bournemouth reserves against Leyton Orient, he was signed up by Os boss Tommy Taylor.
Quickly nicknamed 'Slasher' at Brisbane Road, he featured fairly regularly in the closing weeks of the campaign.
However, despite scoring with a 25-yard screamer against Cardiff City, he was released in the summer.
He is a right-sided defender or midfield player.
