Having enjoyed an excellent first season at Liverpool, Sander Westerveld remained first choice throughout 2000-01, appearing in every senior game with the exception of two Worthington Cup ties.
He looked a little shaky during the first half of the campaign although the Reds' defence as a whole lacked a certain amount of cohesion but his form improved after Christmas.
He was particularly impressive in the titanic battles with Roma and Barcelona in the UEFA Cup ties and finished with three winners' medals for the Worthington, FA and UEFA Cups.
A superb shot stopper, he spreads his huge frame to deny opposition strikers a clear sight of their target but still needs to improve on his handling of crosses and corners.
Sander joined Portsmouth in July 2005 with a one-year contract.
