Sam Russell joined Darlington in July 2004 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2007 in July 2005.
He originally joined Rochdale in August 2007 on a non-contract basis before agreeing a deal to June 2008 in December 2007.
His contract at Forest Green Rovers was extended to June 2018 in June 2017.
