Sam Parkin

As a promising Chelsea youngster, Sam spent most of 2000-01 out on loan to further his football education.

He joined Millwall in September, making a huge impression by scoring twice on what was his Football League debut against Oxford United and scoring four goals in five games for the Lions.

On his return, he was soon off again, this time to Wycombe Wanderers for a three-month spell.

He produced some intelligent forward play and went on to play an important role in the Chairboys' FA Cup campaign, netting the winner in the Fourth Round tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers and then setting up a vital equaliser in the Fifth Round replay against Wimbledon.

Finally in March, he linked up with Oldham Athletic where he had a great entrance, scoring three goals in three starts.

He came off from the bench on his debut against Northampton Town to help the Latics turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory and then netted both goals in the 2-1 win at Swansea City.

A big and powerful striker who holds the ball up well, he has a good turn of pace and can shoot with either foot.

Sam's contract at Swindon Town was extended up to June 2006 in November 2003.

He joined Luton Town in August 2006 with a three-year contract.

Sam joined Walsall in July 2009 with a one-year contract.
