Northmore started 2000-01 as Torquay United's number two 'keeper but soon dislodged Stuart Jones. The two then shared duties for the remainder of the campaign apart from a brief spell when Andy Petterson was brought in on loan from Portsmouth. Northmore is a brilliant shot stopper but like his rival for the position he still needs to find greater consistency when dealing with crosses.
Northmore was made available for transfer in August 2002 before being released a month later.
