Darcy did well in the 2000-01 pre-season games for Barnet, but faced with considerable competition for a place in the centre of the Bees' defence he made just a handful of appearances from the subs' bench in the early part of the campaign. He subsequently had a spell on loan at Conference outfit Dover but spent most of the remainder of the season languishing in the reserve team. He is a solid centre back who is strong in the tackle and has good distribution.
