With Aston Villa, 2nd Division Champion 1938. Developed under former United star Bill McCracken at Hull City, Ronnie became one-that-got-away from St James' Park as he went on to enjoy great success at Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa. After establishing a Magpies place in 1930-31, the form of Harry McMenemy and Jimmy Richardson meant he became excess to requirements on Tyneside.
