The England World Cup winner scored on his Liverpool debut versus Scunthorpe United and went on to become Liverpool's second placed all-time goalscorer with 285 goals.
Roger Hunt also holds the club record for league goals in a season (41 in 1961-62).
With Liverpool, he won the League Division One Championship in 1964 and 1966, League Division Two Championhip in 1962, FA Cup in 1965 as well as becoming a European Cup Winners' Cup runner-up in 1966.
Research by the lfchistory.net web site in March 2015 revealed that a goal that was widely reported as being credited to Roger against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in League Division One on 12 March 1966 was, in fact, an own goal by Spurs' Eddie Clayton.
There is clear evidence from BBC TV's Match of the Day coverage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRer69cDbY&t=11 (The goal is at 2).
