Freestone was once again first-choice 'keeper for Swansea City in 2000-01 and his only absences came as a result of injury or suspension.
Despite playing in a side struggling towards the foot of the Second Division, he was regularly included in the Welsh international squad although he failed to add to his single cap.
A reliable shot stopper with a safe pair of hands, he has now made more than 500 senior appearances for the Swans.
Freestone agreed a new one-year deal with Swansea City in June 2003.
