Rogelio Funes Mori is the twin brother of former Everton and Villarreal defender, Ramiro Funes Mori.
Having previously played for Argentina in 2012 in a friendly international, in 2019, Rogelio inquired with FIFA about the possibility of playing for the Mexico national team, but was ineligible.
However, the following year, due to a change of rules regarding naturalized players by FIFA, he became eligible.
