Robbie Stockdale was unable to break into the Middlesbrough team in 2000-01 and moved to Sheffield Wednesday on loan in mid-September where he covered for injuries at full back.
He performed competently enough but returned to the North-East when the four-week period was over and continued his development in the club's reserve team.
Robbie won his first England Under-21 cap in August 2000 when he came on from the subs' bench for the final 20 minutes of the 6-1 friendly win over Georgia.
Due to having Scottish grandparents, Stockdale later represented Scotland at full and B international levels.
After a loan spell, Robbie joined Rotherham United in July 2004 on a three-year contract but moved on to Hull City in January 2005 with a deal to June 2006.
He was made available for transfer in June 2005.
Robbie joined Tranmere Rovers in July 2006 with a two-year contract.
He joined Grimsby Town in July 2008 in a two-year deal.
