Robbie Keane

Making his debut in August 1997, Robbie Keane scored twice in Wolverhampton Wanderers defeat of Norwich City so becoming the first Wolves player to score twice on his debut since 1960.

His international debut soon followed, and he became the second youngest player in the Republic's history when coming on against Czech Republic in March 1998.

His first goal made him Ireland's youngest-ever scorer.

Robbie made his move to the Premiership in August 1999 when he joined Coventry City for a club record £6million.

After only a season at Highfield Road, the brilliant striker made a sensational £13million move to Internazionale.

His stay in Milan proved to be brief, as after falling out of favour, he was back in England only five months later in a loan deal with Leeds United.

A permanent move was agreed in the 2001 close season for £12million fee.

Robbie had a trial at Leeds as a 14 year-old when he was still with Crumlin United.

The arrival of Robbie Fowler at Leeds meant that he was not assured of regular football.

Robbie further etched his name into Irish folklore with the dramatic late equaliser against Germany in Ibaraki during the 2002 World Cup.

He also netted the opener in the 3-0 defeat of Saudi Arabia and the last gasp penalty in the Second Round against Spain before Ireland went out in a shoot-out.

Robbie's contract at Tottenham Hotspur was extended to June 2010 in March 2006, then to June 2012 in May 2007.

He joined Liverpool in July 2008 with a four-year contract but returned to Tottenham Hotspur in February 2009 with a contract to June 2013.
