Rob Sawyers

2000-01 was probably Rob's best campaign for Barnet since his arrival at Underhill some three seasons previously. He began as the Bees regular left back but despite some consistent performances he lost his place in the new year when Lee Flynn was signed from Hayes. However he returned to the team in March playing in midfield, a role that he adapted to well. The highlight of his season was without doubt his performance at Saltergate in the 2-1 win over Chesterfield in September. He defended outstandingly throughout the 90 minutes contributed a rare goal when he drilled home a left-foot shot to put the Bees on their way to victory.
