Heath was on the fringes of the Stoke City first-team squad at the start of the 2000-01 campaign and made his only senior appearance of the campaign in Worthington Cup first round first leg tie at York when he scored in a 5-1 victory. However his progress was subsequently blighted by injury and he was only offered monthly terms in the summer. When fully fit he is a hard-working midfield player who can also play at full back.
