16 Youth and 2 U-21 appearances for Holland. Over 300 club appearances mainly for Albion. Richard was in and out of the West Bromwich Albion team in the early part of last season but took on a much greater responsibility after Derek McInnes was sidelined by injury and was rarely absent after that. Although not a great tackler he enjoyed battling it out in the centre of the park even though it meant that his scoring opportunities were severely restricted. A clean striker of the ball from distance, he was always involved in the Baggies' build-up play but generously allowed others to play a more attacking role. He was released in the summer and, following a brief spell at Stockport, Richard rejoined his former Baggies boss Brian Little at Hull City.
