Prokas again provided a combative presence in the centre of midfield for Carlisle United last season. He featured regularly throughout the campaign, producing a particularly effective perform-ance in the FA Cup tie against Premiership Arsenal before a rather surprising move to Cambridge United just before the transfer deadline. He made his debut for the U's in the 1-0 win against Oxford United but featured in only a handful of games in the closing weeks of the campaign.
Having failed to sttle in the area, Cambridge agreed to cancel Prokas's contract in July 2002 and he soon returned to Cumbria to join Workington.
