This versatile midfield man was used in a number of roles by Lincoln City although he became more of a squad player following a change of management at the start of March. Richard mainly appeared in his preferred role wide on the right side of midfield but was also used as a wide-left player and occasionally as a central striker. In spells he showed his potential but his future at Sincil Bank was in doubt after he failed to agree a new contract at the end of the 2000-01 campaign.
