Kennedy struggled to break into the Brentford first-team squad in 2000-01 and was eventually released in March when he signed for League of Wales club Barry Town.
His only start for the Bees came at Notts County in August when he replaced Simon March in the pre-match warm-up, and the only other senior action he saw was when he came on as a last-minute substitute in the LDV Vans Trophy tie against Oxford in December.
