Hope was once again a rock-like figure playing alongside Ian Sampson in the Northampton Town defence during 2000- 01.
Although absent with a thigh injury in the early part of the campaign he soon returned and was rarely absent for the remainder of the season.
He is a central defender with a commanding presence in the air who is also an effective tackler on the ground.
Hope, who is the son of the former Sheffield United and Hartlepool United goalkeeper John Hope, joined York City on a monthly basis in August 2003 that was subsequently extended to the end of the 2003-04 season.
Hope joined Shrewsbury Town in August 2005 with a two-year contract.
He joined Wrexham in July 2007 in a three-year deal but was made available for transfer in May 2008.
He joined Grimsby Town in June 2008 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in February 2009.
