Ricardo came onto the international scene in 2001. He started at Atletico Madrid spending a long period in the second team before moving to Real Valladolid in 1998. He only forced his way into the first team in 2000 but became their undisputed number one. He made his international debut in November 2001 against Mexico. Third-string goalkeeper at United whose first actions in Premier League football were to concede then save a penalty. Few chances before moving on.
