Reece Oxford was selected on West Ham United's subs bench for the first time on 26 August 2014 in a League Cup tie against Sheffield United.

At the age of 16 years and 198 days, he became the Hammers' youngest-ever player when he made his debut on 2 July 2015 in a UEFA Europa League tie against FC Lusitanos.

The previous record holder was Billy Williams who was 16 years and 221 days when he played against Blackpool in League Division Two on 6 May 1922.

On making his league debut at Arsenal in West Ham's opening game of the 2015-16 season, at 16 years and 236 days, Oxford became the second-youngest player to start a Premier League game after Everton's Jose Baxter (16 years and 198 days against West Bromwich Albion on 23 August 2008).

His Hammers contract was extended to June 2021 in December 2016.
