Ingram featured at centre back for Macclesfield Town for most of the 2000-2001 season and apart from a two-month absence with a knee injury at the turn of the year he was a near ever-present for the Moss Rose club. A skillful defender who can also play at right back, he controls the ball well, passes accurately and moves round opponents with ease. He scored his first-ever league goal in the home win against Cheltenham last October 2000, volleying home after he had moved up to receive a flick-on from Lee Glover.
