Kishishev made his Premiership debut for Charlton Athletic in the opening game of 2000-01 at right back and performed well, but shortly afterwards lost his place in the team and it was not until November that he won a recall.
He looked much more comfortable playing as a wing back in a 5-3-2 formation but it was only when he was switched to a wide midfield role that he found his best form.
He is a good tackler, comfortable on the ball and not afraid to attempt the unexpected.
Kishishev was a regular for the Bulgaria international team during 2000-01.
He signed a new three-year contract at Charlton Athletic in June 2004.
Kishishev joined Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2010 with a one-year contract.
