Douglas began his career with Meadowbank Thistle, moving with the club to Livingston before joining Dundee in August 1997.
His performances soon attracted the interest of bigger clubs and, in October 2000, Martin O'Neill brought him to Celtic.
He quickly replaced Jonathan Gould as first choice and was a key member of the Bhoys team that won the treble in 2000-01.
Douglas joined Leicester City in July 2005 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in June 2007.
