A young right sided midfielder he started his career in the domestic league for Exide FC and played for Bendel Insurance and Asec Abidjan in the Ivory Coat before signing for Dutch club Ajax in 1999. The Dutch side noticed him at the 1999 World Youth Championships and beat several other clubs to his signature. He had made his international debut as a seventeen year old in August 1997 against Cameroon but has not been a regular in the team. He missed the 2002 African Nations' Finals with injury but he is an excellent prospect, fast and direct in his play.
