The only local-born player in the Oldham Athletic squad, Phil is a young midfield player with plenty of reserve team experience. He was very much a fringe member of the first team in 2000-01, going down with an injury after initially breaking into the side and making a handful of appearances towards the end of the campaign. He scored one goal during 2000-01, netting in the LDV Vans Trophy tie against Wigan Athletic.
