A product of the FA School of Excellence and previously capped by England at Under-16 level.
Peter joined Luton Town in the 2000 close season after three years as a professional at Sheffield Wednesday.
He made his Football League debut from the subs' bench in the opening day defeat by Notts County but, although he featured regularly in the first half of the campaign, he never managed to establish himself in the team in what was a very difficult season for the Hatters.
He is a young midfield player who has good ball control and can hit the ball with either foot.
Peter was released by Luton Town at the end of the 2002-03 season but subsequently re-registered as a Hatters player in November 2003 on a non-contract basis.
His contract at Luton Town was extended to June 2007 in June 2006.
Peter joined Rotherham United in July 2007 with a two-year contract.
