Signed on a free transfer during the close season, Peter started the 2000-01 campaign at right back for Bradford City before switching to the centre of defence following an injury to Andy O'Brien.
He was an ever-present in the line-up until he dropped back to the subs' bench for the game against Southampton in February, then two days later was transferred to Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season.
He made an impressive debut for the Blues in a 2-1 win over local rivals West Bromwich Albion and, apart from a short spell out with hamstring trouble, he featured regularly until the end of the campaign.
He is a solid defender whose strengths are his tackling and positional sense.
Peter signed a new two-year deal with Bradford City in June 2003.
