Arphexad was signed by Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier in the summer of 2000 on a Bosman free transfer to provide cover for first-choice goalkeeper Sander Westerveld following the departure of Brad Friedel. However, he saw little first team action and was released in May 2003 after the signings of Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland
Arphexad joined Coventry City in August 2003 on a four-month contract which was subsequently extended to the end of the 2003-04 season.
