A late call saw Pedro fly to Japan after the injury to Santiago Canizares. He began his career at Real Madrid but could not braek into the first team, only playing in the "B" side. He spent the 1996-1997 season at Real Vallecano before returning for two unhappy seasons at Real Madrid. He left for Malaga in 1999where he is showing realising his potential. He played no part in qualification and has yet to make his international debut, and it will be a surprise if he plays here.
