Wotton linked up well with Craig Taylor in the heart of the Plymouth Argyle defence in 2000-01 and their partnership was an important factor in ensuring the Pilgrims maintained an excellent defensive record at Home Park, conceding just 17 goals in 23 league games.
He was also the club's penalty taker and netted two goals from the spot.
Wotton is a strong and powerful central defender who is very comfortable on the ball.
Wotton's contract with the Pilgrims was extended to June 2008 in February 2005.
He joined Southampton in July 2008 with a three-year contract.
After a loan spell, Wotton joined Yeovil Town in January 2011 with a contract to June 2012.
He returned to Plymouth Argyle in January 2012 with a contract to June 2013 that was extended to June 2014 in May 2013 and to June 2015 in May 2014.
