Watson was an ever-present for Third Division champions Brighton & Hove Albion in 2000-01 for whom he mostly featured at right back.
He performed consistently throughout the campaign, creating many chances when moving up to join the attack and showing excellent distribution.
Watson's dead-ball skills proved useful when taking free kicks and corners and he was also the club's penalty-taker for part of the campaign.
Watson joined Coventry City in September 2005 on non-contract terms.
