Paul Warhurst's injury problems of old returned to haunt him in 2000-01 and prevented him from getting a consistent run in the Bolton Wanderers first team.
Out for two months with hamstring trouble, early on he still made a significant contribution to the club's successful promotion campaign.
One of the most gifted and committed members of the Wanderers' squad, he was a vital member of the team when fit.
Employed either in the centre of defence or midfield, he showed he was a highly gifted technical player, an excellent distributor of the ball and ferocious in the tackle.
Paul joined Chesterfield on a one-month contract in October 2003 before moving on to Barnsley in a similar deal.
He then had non-contract stints at Carlisle United and Grimsby Town.
Paul's contract at Barnet was extended to June 2007 in May 2006.
