McGregor once again showed his goalscoring potential at Plymouth Argyle by netting three goals in three consecutive games in October 2000 but unfortunately he could not produce such form consistently throughout the campaign. A skilful player who can play on the right-hand side of midfield or in attack he always gave 100% to the cause but nevertheless he was released by the Pilgrims towards the end of the season.
