Originally joining Scunthorpe United on non-contract terms, Paul Hayes soon agreed a contract with The Iron up to June 2005.
He joined Barnsley in July 2005 with a two-year contract.
Paul returned to Scunthorpe United in July 2007 with a three-year contract.
He joined Preston North End in July 2010 with a three-year contract that was cancelled in June 2011.
Paul joined Charlton Athletic in July 2011 with a three-year contract.
He joined Brentford in August 2012 with a three-year contract that was cancelled in December 2013.
Paul re-joined Scunthorpe United in December 2013 with a contract to June 2014.
He joined Wycombe Wanderers in July 2014 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2018 in May 2016 before it was cancelled in August 2017.
