After being left out for the first handful of games at the start of the 2000-01 campaign, Paul came back into the Exeter City team in September and grabbed his chance with both hands.
His consistent performances in central midfield made him a key figure for the Grecians and his distribution was superb.
His stunning 25-yard effort in the 3-1 home win against York City was one of the highlights of the season at St James Park.
