Arnison had a mixed first full season with his home-town club.
He started the campaign out injured with a torn calf muscle but soon returned to establish himself at right back in preference to the more experienced Darren Knowles.
He was again sidelined by injury in February and was only able to make a brief re-appearance in the first team before the end of the campaign.
Arnison - a versatile player who can turn out in midfield or in the centre of defence - signed a new one-year contract with Hartlepool United in May 2003.
However, after a loan spell at Carlisle United, he signed permanently for the Cumbrians in February 2004.
His contract was extended to June 2008 in October 2006.
Arnison joined Bradford City in July 2008 with a two-year contract.
