Having joined Middlesbrough in the close season, Noel slotted in well at the Riverside and helped invigorate the Boro' side with his enthusiasm and gusto.
He featured regularly in the squad, although more often than not from the subs' bench, but managed just a single Premiership goal.
A lively front runner, Noel joined Millwall in August 2003 in a one-year deal but the contract was cancelled by mutual consent in December 2003.
He then joined Derby County on a monthly contract up to March 2004.
Noel joined Boston United in July 2005 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in January 2006.
He joined Darlington in October 2009 on a non-contract basis.
