A midfield player with a talent for long-range passing, Nicolas spent the 2000-01 season at Fulham in a long-term loan deal. He made a handful of senior appearances, mostly from the subs' bench and his best performances for the Cottagers came in the Worthington Cup tie with Derby County and the FA Cup game against Manchester United when he deputised for Sean Davis as the 'holding' midfield player. He is the son of Omar Sahnoun a former Nantes player who won six caps for France before tragically dying on the pitch just months before Nicolas was born.
