Mohan was once again a fixture in the Stoke City back line last term and rarely missed a match. He is an experienced central defender whose strengths lie in his determination, competitiveness and ability to organise his fellow defenders. Although he lost the team captaincy to Tony Dorigo during the season he remained an important figure for City and the defence appeared to lack leadership without his commanding presence. Having rejoined former boss Brian Little at Hull, Mohan was subsequently made available for transfer by the Tigers at the end of the 2001-02 season before his contract was cancelled in August 2002.
