After being released by Southend United at the end of the 1999-2000 campaign, Neville had pre-season trials with Kingstonian before jetting off to Australia to sign for NSL club Eastern Pride.
He returned home at the end of January and after a very brief liaison with St Albans City, he linked up with Oldham Athletic.
Fitness blighted his short spell at Boundary Park and he managed just one substitute appearance coming on for the final 30 minutes of the 5-0 defeat at champions Millwall on the last day of the season.
However, although he looked the pick of the Latics' side, he was not offered a contract.
