After his long and successful involvement at Aberdeen, Neil's stay on Tyneside was just the opposite. The midfield ballwinner failed to complete a 90-minute match for United as his only start at Bristol City was halted before half-time. That was due to injury, a problem that was trouble him throughout his year at St James' Park.
