Neil Roberts was at his best for Wigan Athletic in 2000-01 when coming off the subs' bench to score important goals.
Although not a prolific goal-scorer, he led the line well, holding the ball up to bring his colleagues into play and also showed an excellent work rate.
Roberts is the older brother of Wrexham defender Steve Roberts.
With the Latics poised for promotion to the First Division, Roberts signed a new two-year contract with the club in April 2003.
He joined Doncaster Rovers in October 2004 with a contract to June 2006.
