Clement developed well with Chelsea and after loan spells with Reading, Preston North End and Brentford before moving to West Bromwich Albion on a permanent basis.
A stylish left wing back, he had an exceptional season in 2000-01 with the Baggies, producing a string of consistent performances and scoring some fine goals.
Confident on the ball and firm in the tackle, he created several chances for his colleagues with his powerful runs down the flank and also developed into something of a specialist with free kicks.
He was deservedly voted 'Player of the Year' by the club's supporters.
Clement is the son of the former Queens Park Rangers and England full back Dave Clement.
His contract at West Brom was extended to June 2010 in January 2005.
Clement retired in January 2010 due to a knee injury.
