Brisco didn't have much of a look-in at Port Vale in the first half of 2000-01 and it wasn't until February that he made the starting line-up as a replacement for the suspended Tommy Widdrington.

He seized his chance to hold down a regular place as the club embarked on a 16-game unbeaten run and he also appeared in the LDV Vans Trophy Final victory over Brentford.

A powerful midfield player, he scored his first goal in senior football when he netted a superb last-minute effort in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Brisco joined Rochdale in July 2004 on a two-year contract but was made available for transfer in November 2004.
