Ellington established himself as Bristol Rovers' main striker in 2000-01 following the departure of Jason Roberts.

He scored a remarkable individual goal in the second match of the campaign and went on to find the net regularly, despite playing alongside a constant flow of different partners.

His mature performances won him respect from opponents and supporters alike and he finished as the club's leading scorer with 18 goals in all competitions.

A talented young striker, he has good pace and excellent close control.

Ellington joined West Bromwich Albion in August 2005 with a four-year contract before being made available for transfer in January 2007.

He joined Watford in August 2007 with a four-year contract.

Ellington joined Ipswich Town in July 2011 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in January 2013.

He joined Crewe Alexandra in March 2013 with a contract to June 2013.
