Born in London, Muzzy had the chance to play for England and turned down approaches from Turkey twice, before opting to play for them early in 2000. He is a product of the Premiership Club Chelsea's youth system but left the club for Leicester City after failing to break into the first team in 1996. He became a central part of the team moulded by Martin O'Neil and won his first international cap in 2000 making the European Championship Finals squad. He missed most of the 2001-02 season with injury, he saw Leicester City relegated to the First Division and became a transfer target for several clubs. He is a strong running, good passer of the ball with an eye for goal.
In the 2002 World Cup finals, Muzzy's only appearance was in the semi-final against Brazil when he came on for Umit Davala.
Muzzy joined Birmingham City in July 2004 on a three-year contract.
