After producing the best performances of any centre back at Barnet in the 2000-01 pre-season games, injuries limited Mike to just a handful of appearances during the course of the season. A cultured defender with fine distribution he eventually moved to York City shortly before the transfer deadline where he impressed in the centre of defence in the closing weeks of the campaign. He scored with a close-range header in the Minstermen's vital relegation battle at Torquay.
Mike was made available for transfer by York City in November 2002 before his contract was cancelled in March 2003.
